Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to search for and provide information regarding aspects that contribute to koroua living well and in advanced age. This study will explore, analyse and determine whether traditional Māori practices such as te reo Māori. (Māori language) ngā mea wairua, whakapono rānai, (spiritual aspects or faith) and whanau have contributed to the physical mental, spiritual and emotional wellbeing of koroua living well in advanced age. The author proposes to answer the questions by reviewing published literature and undertaking face to face interviews with twelve participants, two of which will be case studies.
