Abstract
The increasing use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in educational institutions, the growing availability of media-rich content and the advancement in web-based applications has created opportunities for the transformation of the learners educational experience. Increasing web-enabled "scapes" are being explored as a means of engaging learners in interactive media-rich environments.
In these environments the term scape denotes an extensive representational view of a specific topic (enviro-scapes, investigating environmental issues, history-scapes, presenting a documented history of a specific location) in essence scapes relate knowledge to location.
This interactive presentation will explore and explain how Google-maps can be used to create media-rich, location generated scapes.
